Hi
We have had Axel & Lottie for just over a week They are both about 22cms long and have darkened toes. Can anyone help us tell what sex they are as we really don't want any accidents at this early stage !!!

Hi,

Yes the tank was cycled , we have tropical fish aswell so understand the whole cycle process. These are our first Axies. I will post some more photo's.

Regards

Great looking axies and habitat

WOW beautiful axies man...I love leucistics...
I'd say
The left one is a male..its cloaca is more prominent then the other.
And the right ones a female..looks like her cloaca is well..non existent XD

Simply Stunning really.

ooo looks like you might get some little buddles of joy soon hehe

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
