Hi all,
I've had my Axies for a month, so I thought I'd post a few pictures. These were taken a few weeks ago. My, how they've grown!(except for the little runt!) axie1.jpg

They are adorable. And yes they do grow fast. Keep the pictures coming, we love seeing them.

Can you post more pictures of the one in the first photo?

The guy in the first pic is the runt. I have been having difficulty getting him to grow. He lost a front leg, a rear foot, and the end of his tail.

The limbs are slowly growing back, but I think the regeneration is stunting his adolescence. He eats, but just doesn't get any bigger. I have him isolated from the rest of the brutes to make it a bit easier for him.

They are all a very interesting colour, especially the little runt.
I am very keen to see their progress

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
