I too like the pale normal axolotls. No one seems to have sorted out the genetics of why some wild types are pale and others nearly black. It may be camouflage but its very eye catching!
 
Thanks for nice comments. I have two like this from a litter of forty I raised the others ended up a lot darker . His mum is wild type this is dad

i love the light wild types.. are they hard to come by?
i just got a tank and have been trying to get things set up before i set out to purchase ...
i would love to get one of each type ... they would look very nice together
 
Nice axolotl. The golden has a nice collouration to.
