Im not quite sure which species of tree frogs these are. I raised them from tadpoles, and still cant tell. they are either Bird-voiced Treefrog (Hyla avivoca), Cope's Grey Tree Frog (Hyla chrysoscelis), Gray Tree Frog (Hyla versicolor), or a hybrid of 2 of these (probably Hyla chrysoscelis and Hyla avivoca since Hyla versicolor is a tetraploid). maybe you guys can help me identify them?

They look like grays, but the most useful feature is the hidden colors on the thighs, which isn't visible. It might not be developed at that age anyway. There's no way to visually differentiate the grays, and place of origin is only of occasional use.

I agree that they look like one of the grays. H. avivoca tend to be much smoother, and have larger, more prominent subocular spots. Do you have any pics of the tads? H. avivoca tads are dramatically different in appearance from the grays.

If they are one of the grays, there's no good way to distinguish them by looking. Raise 'em up until they're big enough to call!

They are very cute! Thanks for sharing. However, be careful, in my state it's illegal to have these without a special permit because they're native. If you are allowed to take eggs or gray treefrogs from the wild in your state, I'm jealous! If you're making a terrarium for them, I'd love to see pics of that. I love grays!

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
