Hi just wanted to say thanks for allowing me to be here.
We have an axolotl named Mander. We got it( We dont know the sex yet lol) in April.
It has nearly doubled in size now a juvenile.
WE have learned so much here. We purchased Mander at a reptile show, and was told it would do good in a tropical fish tank, and only ate fish food.. lol Lucky for your forum, we soon realized how much of a lie that was.
My boyfriend has a pacman frog, so that peaked my interest in the unusual pets.I have been breeding Jack Russell for about 6 years and now more and more the unusual pets have my interest.

One more thing you should know is that gravel, like the size you have in your tank, is extremely dangerous! You need to remove it straight away and switch to a substrate that is either 1.) bigger than your axolotl's head, or 2.) small enough to pass through the digestive tract unimpeded. You can also go with no substrate at all, or use something like slate.

Gravel impaction is a very serious, and very dangerous, situation. Your axolotl could die if kept on gravel of that size.
