Photo: My Dearly Treasured Axolotls

Thanks Chris! Yes, Tenedor is the biggest of the 'lotl (lame.. lot). No idea how old she is, have had her since February I believe, and she was big then.

The log hide was originally for my brother's hermit crabs, but when they died, I axolotls took procession of it haha. They love it, seems very secure/cozy. :happy:

Still looks like a bit of a youngster - but seems to be a male just coming into maturity. I WAS hoping for a female (as I only have one female), but that just gives me a good excuse to get more, no? ;)

What amazing photos and amazing axi's you've got! I love how you keep adding, its almost like instead of going shopping for shoes or something, you get axi's instead! Wish I could do that :D There is one thing that I've noticed in the pics though . . . Every aussie on here seems to have the same log/pipe and the same thermometer! :p

Yeah, I've noticed that as well! My brother brought the log for his hermit crabs, when they died, my axolotls took procession of it - they LOVE to be in it, looks cosy!
As for the thermometer, it's really either this one or the strip one you stick onto the outside of your tank. Personally, I've found glass thermometers to be more accurate.

I don't have the log and I don't have that thermometer! I have a black one that is attached to a wire that goes into the water and my axis love their terracotta pot hides.

They also love their new "Pillars of El" (as named by my best friend who think I'm insane for having axis, but forgives me because she's hoping I'll grow out of them - I'm 20. I don't grow out of anything!) haha
 
They're seriously the BEST! I love them. I have two in my tank: one is plain and sits on it's side (Incas - he squeezes in through the hole in the back (it has been enlarged for this purpose) and sits in there for hours.
The other sits flat on it's bottom and Azzi likes to hide in there beneath the plant that's growing on it.

I've attached a photo of my tank, there is a pot on the far left and a pot on the far right.

The Pillars of El are in the middle.

Little 'lotl pics. Not very good because of the plastic container they are in - but you can see they have grown, and have lovely gills. :happy:
