My new axies have arrived meet jinxs , squish and?

Nice axolotls. You also got a picture of the tank where you keep them in?

Ha, not really its hard to take pictures of it since there isn't a light over it... I will have to try?

your melanoids gills have gotten so big and fluffy since you have had him! well done :D

Have you decided on a name for the melanoid yet? So cute! Mine is called Pitch (for pitch black) not sure if I've mentioned that yet.. :)

I haven't come up with a name yet :(

although I am getting them a new tank a 40 long so they will have more room. the 40 gallon will have a light so i will be able to take some better pictures finally.

I have a design plan for it already.. I want to put in some fake bonsai trees to dissipate the water flow from the filter and have some hair grass or growing like a carpet along the bottom I want to use that needle point plastic mesh stuff to anchor the "carpet" i want it to look like it has hills ... i will find a picture of what I am thinking so every one can see

like this but a bit more axie friendly

How about ghost? Your melanoid is decidedly ghostly! Just a suggestion, its fun to keep them nameless so you can mull over the possibilities and use it as an excuse to start "what should I name my axolotl?" conversations with everyone you know!(Or mabye that's just me..:D) Either way, all 3 are very sweet!

Wow havent they grown! Great to see the spots and markings got darker. All three of them are looking so beautiful.

@ mamatoulouse
They are all very beautiful put I realy like the clownhead, very nice!

Thank you! squish is also my favorite she is always the first to come and greet you...

if the golden grows too much bigger than the others, then you may have to seperate them

i think my golden is a male and my melanoid is a female... The golden has the "bulge" and my melanoid seems to have a fuller belly and no bulge... and squish... has both so maybe he is a chubby fella or something

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
