Thank you!

Very handsome chappy!

( Has he been damaged, on his toes? )

I think perhaps he may have in the past but he was about 18cms when i bought him and has always had just three small toes on that side but the rest are normal. He also has a smaller gill than the rest and a very forked gill. But i love his little quirks.

Cheers i thought that the third photo looked the best. Axolotls seem to be quite good at posing for photos!

He has got the craaaziest gills, I love him!

Thanks for all the nice comments im glad you like him. Im glad to be a part of this site its great for info and help but i really like that i can share my interest in these fascinating creatures with other people as none of my friends do.

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
