I was thinking it would be a good idea to start a "then and now" thread so we can all see how far our tanks and axes have come over the months and years.

attached are some pics of my setup, the first being when I first set up my 25G bow front before I move Lance in and the second two photos I have just taken. if you look closely, you can see Lance-Altol (golden, with her back foot on the glass) and Knuckles (melanoid - sitting on the log).

my latest tank design consists of real and fake plants. the tall one at the back is fake, as is the one with the broad leaves near the feeding dish.

in the last picture, you can see the peace lilies I grow in the trickle filter, they work wonders sucking all the ammonia, nitrate and nitrite out of the tank. the tank is also now lit with a small LED lamp.

let the then & now begin!

The first is my tank in my dorm room from last year. The second is Swarley's tank now! The third is Momo and Toothless's (my new lotls) tank. I'm excited to see all the pictures. This was a good idea!

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
