Mudpuppy hunting

Hey folks,
NeotenicJaymes and I went out Necturus hunting this past Friday and I just wanted to share the experience and some photos with you.

It was pretty dang cold on Friday and the water was even colder. We went out to Jayme's secret spot and started flipping rocks. It didn't take long for Jaymes to spot this little fellow, he even gave me the honor of catching my first mudpuppy.



Awhile later, Jaymes found a second one, and he got a good picture of him in the water. This one was a little bigger than the first one we caught.




Sadly, we only found the two, and I didn't even make a find. Here's me looking cold and discouraged

But we had a heck of a good time! Even when my car decided it didn't want to start and we thought we might be stranded for a while. Jaymes is a great guy to hang out with and I can't thank him enough for taking me out.

Sounds like fun. I want to do something like that sometime, but I have no idea where to begin.

Didn't know people felt like that about me.

Actually there were some changes applied to the habitat and the whether hasn't been so stable. Another 2-3 weeks and we should find plenty more. Lets give it another shot in 2 weeks! Thanks for coming out this way I had a blast Jess!
