It's been AGES since I've posted any pics, here are my two lovelies :) Xenophon is my nosey, bolshi EXTREMELY greedy leucistic and Moxie is his slightly shyer and far more sensible wildtype brother. It goes without saying that I'm soppy in the head about the pair of them ;)

looking good!

going from the second picture (swollen bits), don't be at all surprised if you see eggs soon. that axie looks as if it's getting ready to "do the deed" if you get me.

Ha ha, yes giant boy bits. Not long after that photo was taken he 'relieved himself' huh hum...Thankfully I think they're both male so no eggs on the horizon I hope!

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
