He's so shy still but I've finally managed to get a photo of him!
Is he a really dark wild type or a melanoid?

It's probably too early to tell but does the body shape from the top view indicate that it's a boy or a girl? I'm assuming it's a he simply because of a lump in between the legs (which I wasn't able to get a photo of)

Judging by those pictures I'd have to say it's a wildtype.

yes i think dark wild type too. She looks just like my dark wild, Taco. I thought she was melanoid for years because she was so black, but the give away is the shiny ring around the eye you can see, and the freckley tail. Lovley axolotl, nice gills!

Also i think its a girl for sure, there is no bulge and she has they typical round belly.

Awww don't say that! I don't want to end up with eggs and my mum wont let me have a second tank if I need to separate my two axolotl's

Yeah I agree with Wild type, And hey worst comes to worse, if you do end up with eggs you can post it on here, And give them to people :) Theres always lots of people willing to buy eggs ^^

The little man is still randomly dropping spermatophores (has been for a few weeks now) and hovering over the new one even though he/she isn't showing signs of sexual maturity just yet! I'd gladly give the eggs away, it's just the fact I'd have to end up separating the two if it does end up being a female and I don't want it to have to come to that. He/she has a little bulge between its legs but I guess it is still too early to tell

Also tanks for letting me know what colour he/she is! I fell in love with it as soon as I seen it. I especially love the random speckles on the face :p

Oh and in regards to the typically round belly indicating that it's possibly a girl - my male has the roundest belly ever! He's such a fatso
