Hello There.

I'm from Brasil and my english is really bad haha, so sorry.

Below some pictures of my tank and my 2 babies.

http://www.caudata.org/forum/members/dansmrcookie-albums-tank-axolotls.html

I try to post the images here, but i cant :/ I accept help haha

I am loving creating them, I'm just a little concerned with the wild, he seems more "slow", the albino eat faster, and some times goes to my hand. I have them only one week.

some know tell me, is normal to have more appetite than others?

That is a beautiful golden! And a very lovely tank.

They can definitely have variances in their appetites. It's fairly common. Chances are, he's just not that hungry!

Sometimes, one of my axolotls will choose to refuse food for a day or two. But then they're always there the next feeding time begging to be fed and they'll eat a lot!

As long as he eats in the next couple of days, I wouldn't be too worried. He's probably just stressed from the move.

Hello hacelepues

The Golden is really beautiful!
The wildtype one eye seems to have a little background, I do not know what it is because he is very young and very small too. Maybe he's a bit blind and it makes you be more aloof.

The Golden Earthworm when i put it already is coming, sometimes comes to my finger. The Wild usually recoils, as if afraid. is required to put in front of him and wait a few minutes for him to eat.

I hope it's just lack of appetite or usual with the tank.

just to fix the post

They are very lovely :) I like the picture of the gold coming up to your girlfriends finger to have a look! Their tank is beautiful, so big! Don't worry about differences in the way they feed, my two are completely different in the way they eat and it really worried me when I first had them. Their bodies should be about the same width as their heads, that is a good healthy weight. Hope you enjoy being an axolotl parent!

Hello Sillymoogle!

Thank you for the praises!
And thanks for the great reply! My axols are feeding different quantity, but how you said, each one have your need, so I'm calm now haha.
I will check the bodies are the same width of the head. But I believe so.

Yesss I love be a daddy hahaha
by coincidence , today is "father's day" here in Brasil hahaha.

1- The new in my hand, he (or she) is very curious.
2- My tank, now with some plants.
3- Love this photo, I really want a Camera photography
4- The wild type, he seems blind of one eye, is very little to see, but one eye is a bit strange. I will call of "pirate". poor boy =/

did you feel him sniff your fingers? I love it when mine do :) It's always shortly followed by trying to eat me!

haha yeah! Usually who try to eat me is the white one, but in the last days the wild too.

I think that I was feeding a lot, now I'm feeding only each two days and they look much better and more active =)

PS: The photo of your avatar is your axolotl?

Yup, my avatar is Bowie, my female leucistic.

bahaha my wildtype is more prone to just sit in my palm too. My leucistic never gives up on trying to eat me.

I'm so glad I checked back on this thread :) My how they've grown! Your golden is a regular little butter ball, I always prefer them a bit chubby! He is so funny chasing your finger along. Super glad they are doing so well, you are obviously a great owner xxx

Hello SillyMoogle!!

haha very very thanks for this words!! I was really happy when read!!
Yess, they are growing up a lot! O.O The leucistic is a little bit chubby, then I'm feeding a bit less.

This is my first tank and I had much fear could take care wrong and mistreats then.
I finally get my new camera, below some new pics.

Thanks for the care SillyMoogle!

Hello everybody!

I'm posting new photos of my Axies, I need help to identify the sex.

I think the leucistic is male and the wild type is female, and about the golden, I need to take some photos with a good angle.

Can help me?

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
