I put Sparkles in with the other kids in the 4'ft tank & all is going well

My Axolotls luna and deli still not sure if she is ready to lay eggs or not ,i can see shes full of them by her tummy , i had just fed her and you can see where the food is inside her and theres a big empty space , her finger tips have darkend and my brown one is a male and is 4 years old , my female pink one ive had her for over and year now and she was a couple of months old when i got her any advice?? :happy:

If —sorry, when— I get axolotls, I have every intention of tracking down some large marbles/glass paperweights like yours, Nikki. It looks gorgeous— and there's no chance of them swallowing them, and they should be easy to clean! Are they?
Fleamarkets/Antique shops near me seem to have them occasionally, as well as charity shops, and I've seen some in toy/gift shops.
There are so many cute critters in this thread!
Are any of you on Tumblr? One of my friends showed me a tessellated pattern with lots of different colour drawn axolotls. The artist is happy for people to use it privately, or publicly, if they're credited.

Shane douglas:with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??+1

Thorninmyside:Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation+1

Clareclare:Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?+1
