A tiger salamander would need a lot more land. Newts are the way to go.

That would work for Caudata Culture Species Entry - Pleurodeles waltl and Caudata Culture Species Entry - Cynops cyanurus as well as many other aquatic newt species.

Beautiful set-up, though it is not suitable for a tiger salamander. There are several different species of newts that could thrive in there.

How many Fire-Bellied newts can you keep in the same terrarium?

Clareclare:Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?+1
