My axolotl just came today! Meet baby Meelo!!! It's only been an hour or so, but I have taken a ton of photos!!! I really love this forum for all the help I have received in preparation for him! Thank you!

Thank you! He started swimming around and exploring his new tank.
He loves hiding in his food dish. I think I am in love! :p

I first contacted another breeder off this site and they stopped replying to me after I waited 3 weeks for their melanoids to be big enough. (I didn't harass them, I emailed them once a week to check on how things were going) They finally replied to me yesterday after a week of silence.
Since I was fed up with them, over the weekend I found Michael. Paid for Meelo Sunday, shipped out Monday, and here today! Needless to say I am very happy with my current purchase. :D

Wow, how cute he is !!

I love the melanoid type, but I never find anyone who's selling. Here in Brazil Axolotl are very rare pets.

He is quite an active guy! I am obsessed! I think my friends are getting tired of me cooing over him.

    Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

    Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
