Hi All,

Just thought I'd introduce myself, I just got a nice little juvie wild type axie. He seemed a bit on the skinny side, but is getting bigger after eating a whole lot.

Welcome fellow Sydney-sider! (S)he's adorable, what's his/her name?

Axel the Axolotl! Kinda cheesy, but i like the name in general anyway :p

Cute :) just wondering if you're going to be upsizing the tank? Looks a tad bit small once he's full size. One of my axolotls is about the length of my forearm

Yeah, will be looking to upgrade in the near future. This was just a tank my housemate had spare, so I figured i'd put it to good use

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
