Just got these and I am really looking forward to raising then to beautiful adults. They have already presented me with their appetite of little pigs :) I have heard great things about this species and will update you on their progress from time to time :p

Ahh macrodactylum are great! I have two and there pretty easy to keep. My setup is stacked stone and wood layered with moss, I added some bugs and slug eggs that will hatch and be good food. Are they wc? Do you know the gender? How large are they? They look good! Congrats!

Yes, they are wc unfortunately. They are still way too small to sex, only about 1.5".

Why unfortunately? I have wc T. Grans that are great in captivity, one is so fat I had to make sure that she wasn't too fat lol.

Well, like anyone, I would prefer to have all cb animals. There are captive breeding of this species occurring every so often but I couldn't find any. Luckily they are eating and seem to be healthy.

They are growing up fast :) ImageUploadedByTapatalk1402268487.069703.jpg

Evan,
I have been trying to find CB A. macrodactylum, A. gracile, and A. laterale for quite some time... Really the only species of Ambystoma that I have had luck finding (aside from the usual A. tigrinum, A. mavortium, and A. mexicanum) CB are/were A. maculatum and A. opacum. Although lately I have been finding a good bit of A. talpoideum that were at least captive hatched - both larvae and newly morphed juveniles. Hopefully more people will take a liking to the lesser-kept Ambystoma species, and we will see far more captive breeding projects in the future!
