So, my eggs hatched early on me before I had the chance to sell them. Rookie mistake, but they'd only been laid for 12 days and I had them in very cold water. I'd read that it was between 14-20 days depending on temperature, so needless to say, I was quite surprised. Anyway, I've been raising them myself, and I'm really pleased with how they're coming so far :)

See some pictures! I'm really pleased with the apparent variety in color so far. I know I've got wildtype and some kind of albino, but beyond that I'm not sure.

Super cute! I was hoping to breed some axolotls but I seriously don't think I could cope. I've only got 2 5 month olds and there's so much feeding... So much poop  claps to you. Would love progress pictures in the future. I just can't get enough pictures of axolotls, and Instagram doesn't upload enough!

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
