I just picked her(?) up last night :) She is the most precious tiny little thing!! :proud: Maybe only about 2 inches long right now. I need help with names! So far I like Luna. I have also had Navi or Yuki suggested. What do you guys think?

Ahhhh names....there's a great talking point......are you going for something Mexican or just any name that appears to suit?

I played with names.....my Leucistic male is Sal and my wild type female is Amanda (a play on words Salamader!!!) and my leucistic female is Rosie as in Axle Rose, another play on words into Axolotl Rosie.

have fun picking one and let us know what you decide on.

Your little one is gorgeous by the way.

Thanks ;-) I am just going for anything. The gills remind me of the lion hat that Luna wears in Harry Potter haha That's why I am thinking Luna. Plus I just like the name.

I never knew that it would be SO stinking cute!!!!! I can't stop looking at her haha!! I got a cute video of her eating earlier too :)

She looks like a "Felicity" to me. . . Not sure why. xD

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
