I've had my Meelo exactly one year today! Thought I would share a few photos from this past year. He has brought so much happiness to my life....especially with that dorky axolotl smile.

Also, thank you to everyone on here. I've learned so much from the people here!

Thank you!
My mom got that for my 21st birthday! :D Meelo was extremely interested in it...especially the candles.

Fantastic cake! .... and I'm sure he got some treats for his birthday also. :)

Thank you everyone! He sure did get some wormy treats for his birthday. ;)

My mom based the cake after the picture attached. It fits Meelo very well.

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
