Can anyone tell me what this aquatic plant is called. I've noticed it growing in one of my tanks and in the nature pond, It must have come in with some WC live food. Is it likely to become a nuisance like the duckweed? Cheers in advance for any info. :)

It seems to be very similar to Lemna trisulca. I don't know if that's the species but i would say it's in the vicinity xD

Cheers, I'm pretty sure that's it. It seems to be a good thing rather than a pest. It's closely related to duckweed though so I will have to keep an eye on it!

Yeah, I bet it is once it gets hold. I don't much like duckweed, but I do let it grow in my tanks because it's so fast growing and good at sucking up nitrates. It just means it's a daily job to scoop some out with the net.

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
