Hello. My daughter has been fascinated with axolotls for years now. After much research she has demonstrated that she is ready and willing to take care of a couple of these "axies" :). We are expecting the arrival of 2 juveniles by end of this week. The whole family is excited. It is great that this site exists and folks are willing to share information and experiences. We've been reading and re-reading from the various resources on this site to provide the appropriate care and environment of these creatures. Invaluable! And who knew filtration could get so complicated :)

Thank you!

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
