New member and first time axolotl owner! Little Mono has been through a lot before my friend gave him to me about 2 months ago. I'm learning as quickly as I can about axies to make sure he's as comfortable as I can make him. Just recently got his tank cycled so he's adjusting to life outside of a plastic tub again.

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
