Backwards Arm

Hello!
I am new to the forum and wanted to share my special axolotl with you all. He had is arm bitten off by another axolotl before I got him, but while I had him his arm grew back fully but backwards! I am wondering if I did something wrong? Or if this just happens.

    Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
