Hello everyone! I'm a student from Ohio studying Spanish & Portuguese (feel free to communicate with me in either of those languages, and of course, in English). I've kept fish my whole life, and got my first axolotl a few months ago. I'm in love! This site was super helpful when I was preparing for her, so I thought maybe I should make an account and say hello. I can't wait to share my experience and keep learning.

Hello and welcome to the forum! I quess you can find everything about axies here

Hi Rachel and welcome to the forum.
What sort of axolotl do you have? Are you planning to post any pictures?

Thanks guys!
Her name is Lottie and she's a juvenile leucistic :D

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
