I just put a floating dock in with my n.v larvae. 10 minutes later I found this guy hanging out. I guess they might have a eft stage.

Thanks i will definitely check it out. Since i have some going on land and I I'm getting nervous. I was hoping they didn't have a eft stage. So i can put most of my attention to my C orientals. I would like to have no more than 2 N.v and 2 C orientals this time next year . My house is getting crazy:frog: I have more live bugs, worms in my house then outside.

Just for some new N.v owners. This corner was empty September of 2015 now may 2016. Its not empty. I have mom and dad set up in living room to. I am trying to culture scuds in the 3 gallon on the right. Just some information i forgot. I have put sand in the tank. Its been in there for 3 weeks no problems so far. They eat bbs and white worms of of it i have seen them spitting out sand like there parents. I found a hatchling that would not last a week with mom and dad. I decided to stick him with siblings its his best change. I am overwhelmed with larvae i can't take care of him separately. He is in cycled tank eating of the sand to with siblings. Its been two weeks hes doing great .

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
