Help my axolotl Winnie (short for Winston) isn't eating and his tank is now filled with white flaky slimy stuff. He goes to eat but spits it back out as soon as he's taken it in. The last time I saw him actually swallow was 2 days ago around the same time the white stuff started to appear. I don't know what could be wrong or if this is something relating to shedding or worse :/

I've attached two photos, one of the floating white stuff and one of it stuck on his gills.

I am still working out the solution to my axolotls fungus, but with the help of this forum it's almost gone. I was told it is mostly down to water quality, and ours improved since we fixed the water and started fridging. Most knowledgeable people on here will ask for water parameters. Temp, ammonia, pH, nitrate and nitrite levels. If you provide these in the meantime someone may be able to help you quicker.

Ref not eating. Could tour axolotl have eaten some of that gravel. I can't tell properly from the photo, but it looks very small gravel. Anything smaller than your axy's head should be removed as it is a risk.
