First off, i thought these questions fit here more than off-topic, sorry for it being about a fish not a caudate.

My New betta's aquarium. the floaters have been grown from 2-3 plants about 3 months ago. the amazon sword had some melt issues due to algae when I got it, there is only (near broken) leaf, I hope it survives. The java fern is propagated sprouts from a small bunch of fern I purchased from the pet store (now dead.) Crypt in the corner never grew, I hope I can have some advice for that. Since adding the fish, three days ago the surface has had some film, tips for preventing this?

Will add a red water lily when my LFS has them back in stock, as well as an Anubias. What type of Anubias would look good?

stocking: Female koi betta (if someone could identify the other genes I would greatly appreciate that,) and a nerite snail.

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
