Hello, I'm new here! As.you can see, I am a eastern newt obsessed, if you have one I would love to see pics! Sadly I don't have one rn šŸ˜ž I do hope to get one for my B-day next month, though! I have two parrotlets, kiwi and avocado, And tetras and dwarf gouramis in a 47 gallon tank with some mystery snails. Hope to see.you around!
 
Where are you from? Are you hoping to catch a couple?
I am from New England, USA, I can't say the state, though, but, like, New York, New Hampshire, Vermont, etc.
there is a pond near my house, I saw a baby one when I was over there the other day.

Here are some pics of our eatern newts. We have 2 of them that hang out with 5 of our chinese fire belly newts. The last pic is of an eft that we saw while hiking in Watkins Glen State Park.

    with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

    Not necessarily but if youā€™re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isnā€™t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

    Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
