Went out herping recently but I’m fairly new to this so can anyone tell me what this is?

Looks like some species of Desmognathus, they’re often hard to ID to species level just from pictures but I bet somebody could prove me wrong.

Thank you for helping me narrow it down but do u know if it’s a northern dusky or southern dusky? Because when I log it down I want to try to be as specific as possible

    Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
