This was sold to me as a copper. But it’s collor seems way to golden metallic to be a copper. And he has speckles all over him. I’m wondering if anyone can identify the type of my little friend here, if he’s special I just want to know.

Their is a lot of variation in copper axolotls. That one looks like it could be a copper. Sometimes you can't tell by the phenotype and have to trust the genotype the breeder tells you.

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
