Hi,

My name is Anick, I'm from Canada Quebec (French).
I've been in aquariophilies for 2 years (4 aquariums). My son wanted Axolotls since the new minecraft update 🤦‍♀️ so he sold his fish to buy does little guys...and im now in love with thoses cute little face.

They live in a 55 gallons tank, with sand and rocks to hide. We have kept the filter, a canister Eheim Professionel4 and bubbler.

Here I present to you pink ( Krystel) and the black ( Smiley)

Nice to meet you.

it is recommended that if your axolotl is under 5 inches not to have sand as a substrate as axies will ingest it and it can cause impaction, I realise that your sand is small gravel but the warning still applies.

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
