My axolotl has not eaten in 5 weeks I have tubbed it I have changed it's water daily at first it turned red and I thought it had red leg. Ii is now back to it's normal colour. It is lethargic not interested in food and appears feeble I'm I've also noticed that at first it was an arm which is now back to normal) now it's a leg that looks like it's broken sending picture. Have hard water tested temperature is fine. Food it has been offered ranges from mealworms red wrigglers, garden worms, bloodworms

have you got any other photos.. ie.. leg, left side middle/top gill etc.
what are the water levels ie.. temperature, ph, ammonia, nitrate, nitrite, kh, gh.
what chemicals are used ie.. dechlorinator etc.
any salts/minerals used.
flushed skin can be anything from temperature, ammonia or even over exertion.
how long has tank been cycled, how was it cycled?
as much information as possible including filtration, oxygenation etc..

If it turned red, it is likely ammonia burn. You should definitely at least consider tubbing it until you can verify the water parameters. It's gills are showing severe signs of stress. They will not eat when stressed. The vast majority of time it is water parameters.

(Editing my comment a bit as I see the axolotl is tubbed)

Is the tub being used the same or have you shifted out the tub??? Also, are you dechlorinating the water and what dechlorinator are you using? If it is a dechlorinator with aloe vera, switch it out immediately. SeaChem Prime is number one recommended dechlorinator.

I use rainwater and top it up with some pH powder I think I have maybe discovered the problem just don't know how to treat it. I sprayed my lawn with weed killer the grass clippings were put into compost tumbler and worm from compost tumbler was fed to axie so maybe she is poisoned

I'm guessing weed killer could probably get into the weed killer too...oh dear...I hope she turns out okay! That does not sound fun or good at all. :(

you will need to do a full decontamination clean to make sure there is no trace of weed killer left.
although you are increasing the ph of rain water you also need to increase the gh (most ph increasers alter the kh and ph but not gh ).

I did a full decontaminated when she was in the tub. Her pond was dry for about 3 days just airing & wiped out with vinegar. I thought she may have broken her jaw but I saw her open her mouth yesterday for the first time in 5not in front of food mind you!!!!. She seems to have slight lean at times on her left side. Her arm and leg go in totally opposite directions and really straight compared to other side limbs that are bent and functional. limbs. I have just watched my mother die so I am finding this a bit confronting. I bought her last year for a Christmas present for my grandson not realising the care it needed compared to the salamander my daughter had as a pet. he lives further north in a a very hot hot region I bought a chiller from China with a warranty . It worked for 3 months. Then⁸ they just draw out the process until they stop replying to your emails. I have just got a $450 chilker and massive filter. Now to be able to utilise these two devices I need to get a bigger pond and now the bloody thing is on deaths door. Maybe I should look at her as going into palliative care mode. Grandson's only turning 8 I don't think he is really going to get into being able to provide it or wanting to get off his device to look after it

sorry to hear about your mother.
I haven't been able to find any information about what to use as a medication for weed killer poisoning for amphibians (it does seem to be a major concerns world wide with wild populations), what is noted though for the majority of animals is that if they survive the first twenty four hours then there is a good chance of recovery.
holtfreters solution may help, especially because the water used is rain water, also methyline blue baths might help as it helps oxygen to be carried through the blood stream.
unfortunately unless it comes as an app and uses a controller most kids soon loose interest as soon as the novelty wears off.

Thank you so much for your effort maybe she could have had a stroke seems to be leaning on that one side.

It's probably a gas bubble. You should maybe lower the water level enough so that she can be underneath water comfortably but also stand in the water on all fours.

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
