I’ve owned 2 axolotls for just under a week now I don’t know if I’m just stressing because they’re my first pets ever but I keep worrying when I see the slightest thing wrong the albino is about 3/4 the size of the wild type one it still had quite abit of growing to do.do these look healthy I’ve noticed wrinkling in the tail but certain places say it’s normal?

there does seem to be some deformity to your leucistics tail but it shouldn't be an issue that will affect his health, the photo isn't clear enough on your dark axolotl.

I’ve read it can be a genetic thing or just a growing thing and it is only about 8 month old but I’m not too worried there behaviour seems to be normal and it’s eating fine I’ll upload another picture of the dark one

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
