The water from my tap is very soft. I use an API test kit which reads 3 degrees about 53.7 ppm. Is this too low for axolotl hatchlings? I know they need minerals for their skin and development but how low is too low? If too low what can I do to raise the Gh? I know crushed coral would help raise it but in the future I’m not sure how I would divide it up into 50+ small containers. Any help would be appreciate thank you in advance.

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
