I want to enter a few photos for the 2010 calendar competition. I was wondering, does anyone use the shadow box method? This is when you take the front off of a 10gal(or create the same "open box" effect). Then put in eye pleasing living plants and such. Basically create a temporary habitat for the sole purpose of highlighting the best qualities of the target for photographing. I am very interested in showcasing my specimens and would love to do that in as professional way as possible! Thank you for your time!

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
