I rescued this little girl from a friend who brought it from the Houston area and was keeping it as if it was a bearded dragon! Luckily he had a water dish and a not so powerful heat lamp. Anyways she has been with me for the past month and she seems almost like a small tiger salamander! Feeding from forceps and being crepuscular or diurnal begging for food.

Despite being quite reclusive in nature, this species is a pleasure to care for in captivity. Very bold, and yes, very willing to feed! I hope you enjoy this gem of a caudate!

Awe what a cutie! Marbled salamanders are one of my favorite Ambystoma species. Not only because they're pretty, but they make great photo faces!
