I’m getting some Amazon milk frogs soon, and have read that these frogs can be kept over a water bottom tank as adults. However, I’ve also read that they’re not great swimmers and can easily drown if the water is too deep. So, how can these frogs be kept above a water bottom safely, if at all? I’d love to keep a water bottom tank for a group of them, but don’t want to take any risks with them drowning.

Does anyone have any experience with this, or suggestions?

Thank you!

as babies i kept mine in water about 3-4 inches deep until they got larger. They can swim but they also need to be able to climb totally outside of the water. (Vertically). For this i used pothos and sticks to create an area above the water.

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
