Hello Caudata.org members,
I'm powers2001 aka Mitch. I’ve been an avid reef tank keeper for nearly 25 years. I live and work on my family’s farm. I did a lot of field herping as a young kid when we lived in Northern Virginia. I particularly enjoyed a time when my brother and I collected dozens of greenish newts with yellow spots and sold them to a pet store for 15 cents each. That was in the 70’s. I wouldn’t do that these days without abiding by the laws. Now that I’m semiretired I want to get more pets. Our local pet store has a couple marbled Axolotls at about 8” including the tail. I’m hoping to get one soon. I have a 25 gallon tank I hope that’s suitable. I’m looking forward to spending time learning about amphibians here on this website. Thanks!!!
