i want to know how to take care of a green frog because i am thinking of getting one as a pet

In the US the green frog is a species unto itself.

I think if you followed regular care for frogs in general you would be fine. Frogs like to spend most of their time in the water. Feed with aphids or springtails (if the frog is small) or small worms, crickets if larger.

What kind of green frog? A green tree frog, or something else?

Assuming he means Green frog Rana clamitans.

No experience but I'm not sure if they'd be good pets. You'd probably want a sizeable aquaterrarium for them. Any info on leopard frogs or bullfrogs could be adapted to fit these guys.

if it were a green treefrog he would have probably posted in the tree frog section

It might just be a "regular" Green Frog, not a tree frog---in which case he would have the same basic care requirements as a bullfrog.
