In the past I had 4 bullfrogs tadpoles, all the tadpoles were fat and healthy. When the first one turned into a froglet it was plump, but no matter what I could never get it to eat anything. I tried pinhead crickets, fruit flies, and small earthworms. The frog stayed in the water all the time, so when they prey fell in the water they were slow and easy to catch, but it never lunged at them, and after 2 weeks it was skin and bones wasting away. After that I gave them all away to someone who had a backyard pond so mabye they had a chance to survive.
Why did the young frog not eat anything, I thought bullfrogs were voracious eaters? I couldn't believe how hard it was to keep the frog alive! I gave up on raising any tadpoles after that fearing they would all end up dieing when they turned into frogs.
