Hi, axolotl person here, but with a problem...
A few months ago, my Dad found a tadpole in a puddle, and decided to bring it home and pop it in with the guppies rather than let it dehydrate(Suffice to say I was freaked out when this massive tadpole appeared out of the java moss forest...). We're pretty sure that it's a bellfrog, but in the past week its tail has developed a distinct kink in it... _/~\_ (well, sort of...), and I'm rather worried it may signal the demise of our lovely little Taddie.
So far, no development of front or back legs, and he's still eating voraciously (Plants, fish food, more plants...). As for him being in a fish tank, it was the best we could do at the time and he's been incredibly happy up until now (Though when he shows signs of morphing, we'll probably begin working on some kind of vivarium for him to move into :) )
Water parameters:
between 20-22C depending on the time of day.
<0.25ppm ammonia
Not sure of nitrate and nitrite (But considering the amount of Java moss in there, it should be quite low.)
Any help would be much appreciated!
(and sorry if this is the wrong section! If it is, I'd be incredibly grateful if a mod could move it :) )
