Has anyone used mod podge in a newt enclosure/know if it's newt safe once it dries?

I have not tried it, but I know mod-podge isn't water proof. If the enclosure has high humidity and water it may flake off over time. I am not sure about how safe it is, but silicone is always a better option.
If anyone has any experiences with it in newt enclosures I would love to know as well!
