Hi! So, I recently got a female axolotl. I got her with the intention of breeding her with my male. As of yesterday they did the courtship dance, spermatophores, etc. So I'm assuming she's prego with eggs. Only problem, is that she hasn't been eating for the past 2 days. Yesterday and today. My water parameters are fine, and my other two axolotls are eating. Don't worry, when I get my second tank cycled I plan on moving her there. I don't want constant breeding. Is it just because she might have eggs, or is it because the previous breeder didn't care for their axolotls well? And I might've got a sick one? She's moving a lot, back and forth across the tank. It's 70 gallons. Is that just her personality, or is it a sign of sickness that might be related to the not eating?

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
