hello everyone...
my sweet "lizard" finally came out of the water today... this may be a dumb ?? but what kind of soil should i use to make her new home? at the garden center they have all this soil with fertilizer in it... yuck! i don't want her to die after i've worked sooo hard to keep her healthy... all help appreciated!

I use the same stuff, under the name forest bed. It's great, and if you pack it down hard enough, the tunnels usually last (at least with ecuadorian hermit crabs).
 
is coco peat the same as coco choir?
that is a substrate that, im told, is quite resistant to contamination from mold spores, however, it is also very good base for established mold and fungal colonies, probably because it is celulose-based and very low in nutrients. just gotta be careful to start with a very clean environment i guess, and throw out the old substrate if you're switching.
