They have gained quite a lot of weight after 7 months or so, especially the male. Looking healthier than ever.

are you sure you have both male and female, if so, can you post picture of their cloaca,

it could be very useful to determine mine,

Yes, I checked their cloacas after I got them about a year ago. I received both as adults. I am currently traveling so when I go home I will take some pictures of their abdomens and post it.

The left one is a male, the right one a female, it's nog so hard to see the differents, if you know whete to Look at.:).

    Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
