Good Food Options

Hi! I have a picky eater, and currently he is on Hikari Sinking Pellets. However, I think they recently changed their recipe and I don’t think they’re sitting as well with him. I’ve tried red wigglers and night crawlers for live food, which he’s not a fan of, and I have the “Axolotl Gourmet Food” from Aquatic Blended Foods but he doesn’t eat as much of it (he doesn’t starve on it, but definitely will lose a little weight if he’s on it for a while). Any suggestions? Also I attached a little pic just to show he’s skinnier than normal right now, and he’s been kind of rejecting food since I got a new bag of it about 2 weeks ago. Thanks for the help!

Hi! My axolotl can be a picky eater at times. This website could maybe help, as it has some food options for axolotls.
I sometimes give my axo a bit of uncooked red meat w/o fat so you could try that if it’s in your budget. Red meat isn’t a good source of minerals though so I wouldn’t rely completely on a red meat diet - but if it’s something they’ll eat it’s definitely better than nothing.

You could also try a different pellet brand maybe? I think I use this brand: Axolotl Pellet Food
