I posted to an axolotl forum on Reddit about my ammonia spike yesterday which was 1ppm (now reading 0.25ppm or less today) and someone recommended Microb-lift ammonia remover. I’m not one for chemicals, but I see many good reviews on this product and wondered if anyone has any experiences with this product with your Axolotls before I buy it.
Ammonia always seems to be a problem (going nowhere above 0.25ppm though) in my tank despite the weekly water changes. There is no ammonia in my tap water either.

if you have chloramines in the tap water then you will have ammonia after dechlorination, this is why an aquarium should be tested 24hrs after a water change not before to reduce chances of false positives.

Gotcha. Do you know anything about the ammonia remover though?
