Argonite sand

Hello! Argonite/crushed coral helps raise pH... My pH comes out of the tap at 6.7 + but drops down to a 6 in my axolotl tank and stays up in my warm water tanks. Can I use Argonite sand as a substrate to help keep it up in my lotls tank?

argonite will help buffer the ph but it takes time for it to dissolve.
